“Give Up The War” is intended to be a breath of fresh air for a world that has experienced an extended season of grief and division. Intentionally soaked in warm, vintage sounds and featuring the healing vocals of my friend, Ms. BrightSea.
The song was recorded here in Leavenworth, WA, mixed by Kyle Monroe at Tiny Tape Room in Nashville and mastered down the street from him by Sam Moses. To get that warm 70's vibe, Kyle ran all the tracks through his analog console and bounced a bunch of tracks to cassette tape. My uber-imaginative friend, Adam Mock worked with me to bring to life the artwork concept (which will be expanded upon in upcoming releases for the project). Everyone who worked on "Give Up The War" put their soul into the song and I couldn't be more proud of it.
I hope our song brings you a spacious, life-giving comfort.
In case you missed my recent emails and posts, I’m in the middle of making a record intended to be a “soundtrack of healing”. This time around I’m pulling back the creative curtain more than ever to allow a handful of lovely supporters to get regular updates from the studio as I create it.
